Do I or do I not ???

Today it is or never,
Day by day I begin to shiver,
But I felt that I was up for this from when so ever,
Then why is it that I suddenly begin to quiver.

When I think about my family, the thought gets me thinking forever,
Am I to remain confused forever ?
It is I who is authorized to make decisions for myself,
But what if this creates a haze between me and my family and friends.

Take your pick, a voice screamed out in my head,
"Its you and only you, who has a choice over your life," my inbuilt voice crawled out aloud,
Life is lived once and only once, my brain began to bray,
And suddenly from no where I began to pray.

I want to dream and only dream, I seeked out to the one above,
And now after those many sleepless nights of pleas and anger ,
I find myself surprisingly shivering with pleasure,
For when dreams do come true, its hard to believe its true,
But dreams are after all dreams and if they can come true, remember that they can disappear in a second too.

So one thing, I learnt after my dream came true,
Dream only if you have the will to see them disappear one day,
For after all it was just a dream,
And it was never meant to be true.

You have conveyed a very interesting thought through this poem! one dreams about something and he/she wishes that it came true someday. But when it actually happens, people lose interest in the whole thing and they start dreaming about something else. According to the tenets of Hindu Philosophy, we are living in this illusion(Maya) and our quest should be to snap out of it and understand reality. And i guess the best way to do it would be to keep dreaming about new things and making them come true and at the same time, losing interest in them. we should constantly set newer and tougher goals for ourselves and try to achieve them. At the end of the whole process, we might realize that everything is bound in this material world. The more goals we achieve, we move closer to self actualization and we become one with the divine entity responsible for creation, sustenance and destruction!! phew! :)
