The first time I stepped into this world,
I was crores afraid,
For the simple reason being,
That I dreaded the great.
For the first time after ten years, I had felt the other world,
What it would have in store for me was still and an unsolved crossword puzzle,
But soon after the weeks passed by, it became my world,
So far now that, it has become my entire world.
With various faces around me,
Which keep on changing as time revolves around me,
Once I stepped out to see the real world to be,
I could not stay far, so I came back to thee.
Seven years have passed now and I continue to feel,
Who would I have been , if not for thee ?
As I walk across the corridors,
I take pleasure in each time the bell goes,
For my ears they are like the morning dew from heaven,
Which will ever be, no more, as I reach towards the door.
The friends in the teachers we had gained,
During exams the cramps we gained,
The non stop chatting with my pals,
The silent stares during classes we shared.
Running down the stairs to make the most of every free hour,
And chewing the yummiest food by the hour,
Oh! I will always remember you,
For you have become my world for seven years at a stretch.
Now when it is time for me to walk outta these gates,
I tremble thinking about my fate,
But you have taught me how to face,
Every phase, in the right pace.
I owe you all that I am today,
You will remain in me, as I remember you day by day.
